WHERE TO KEEP OCEANIC GRENDELS:

The Oceanic Grendels are meant for the C12DS metaroom, which you should have if you downloaded these. ;)

The best place to keep the oceanic grendels is the ocean to the right of the desert island. This is because the coconuts on the right side of the island are more likely to bounce off, fly into the right ocean, and break, therefore giving any creature living in that ocean seeds to eat. There is also no risk of being taken out of the water by a passing vehicle.

Of course, living in the other ocean isn't completly out of the picture, but coconuts are less likely to fall into this ocean, and the submarine will take inside it any creature it touches.

If you don't have C12DS and got the nessecary sprites for the C1 grendels by other means, or just plain don't want to keep them in C12Ds, you can keep them in Norngarden 4, Aquanornia, or the C3 Aquatic Terrarium. If using the latter, make sure they have a dispenser.

GENERAL CARE:

The oceanic grendels aren't that hungry when they come out of the egg, and are prefectly heathly unless they have a genetic disease. Therefore, caring for the babies is simply getting them to water and making sure they eat. You don't have to race your oceanic grendels to water, as they are amphibious, so if you want to keep them on land to educate them or something similar to that, you can.
The oceanic grendels are social creatures-if you hatch one and keep him/her by his/herself, he/she is likely to get lonely. Hatching and keeping oceanic grendels in pairs is what works best.
They are generally friendly creatures, who lack instincts to hit, although you may have one who seems to enjoy beating his fellows up. In that case, seperate the slap-happy one from the rest and keep him by himself for a little while. An alternative idea is to slap the grendel when he hits another, along with saying "No hit grendel".

GENERAL FEEDING:

In all lifestages, the typical diet of an oceanic grendel consists of fish (critter) and seeds. While they need less food than regular grendels, you still need to make sure they eat, because they may decide to stop later on in their lives.
In C12DS, the oceanic grendels should be able to get all the nutrition they need from the fish and the occansional coconut piece that falls into their domain. However, if falling coconuts aren't landing in the ocean frequently enough the keep your oceanic grendels healthy, it may benefit to let them wander around the desert island to eat the coconut pieces that are usually lying around there.
Also, it won't hurt to give your oceanic grendels some variation in their diet-unlike some other creatures, the oceanic grendels do not get sick when they eat foods other than critters and seeds. However, they get very little nutrition from anything else, although food and fruit are both good if you want to give your grendels a treat.

BREEDING:

The oceanic grendels are able to breed from Youth onward-a grendel who has reached breeding age can be recognized by his/her color, which is a brighter shade of blue from younger grendels.
They aren't the most frequent breeders around, but they aren't infrequent, either. They require no special needs for mating and/or laying eggs.
However, unless you have a .cos file that allows it, eggs will not hatch underwater. Therefore, the best thing to do is once a female has laid her egg, pick it up and take it ashore. From there, you can either just drop the egg on the island and let it hatch on its own, or take it to the incubator and hatch it.

SICKNESS AND CURE:

Because of their watery enviroment, a sick oceanic grendel is very infrequent-aquatic creatures rarely come across scenarios where they can become ill.
But in case you do find one of your oceanic grendels has contracted a disease, cure him/her like you would any other normal creature.
